Overview:
Two alchemists, who shared the same dreams and aspirations, formed a strong bond. They spent their lives doing research, hoping that one day they can enrich people’s lives and make the world full of happiness. After several years, they finally gave birth to a new creation: A homunculus that can live outside of a flask.
The alchemist who started the research was delighted to know that their creation will be a better partner for humans and make them happy. However, he learned that his own partner and only friend had proposed the king to use the homunculi as weapons, and the government accepted, giving him a large sum of money and a position in the service of the royal family.
― “If we use the homunculi in the war, we can reduce a lot of casualties, and if we can expand our territory, our lives will be enriched! This is the most effective way to use our homunculus, it’ll make everyone happy!”
Feeling angry and betrayed, the alchemist denounced his friend and appealed directly to the king to prevent the use of the homunculi in the war. However, he was stripped of his position and was banished from the royal capital.
Several years had passed since then.
Even though he heard rumors that the war was over, the alchemist is still unable to heal his emotional wounds, and spends his days living in apathy. Until one day, when he went to a dumping ground in the forest and found an abandoned “sack” containing a “girl”.
Story:
Two alchemists, bound together by their ambitious research, dreamt of creating a world where people’s hearts could be filled with happiness. After many years, they finally developed the means to do so.
This was the birth of “the homunculus that could survive outside of a flask.”
The alchemist’s research paid off, and he celebrated a future where homunculi could enrich the lives of humans as their partners. However, he soon discovered that the friend he trusted had other intentions. He schemed with the king to use their homunculi in war, for which he was richly rewarded and appointed as the royal alchemist.

The alchemist confronted his friend.
“Using homunculi in war will reduce human casualties. Expanding our territory is the best chance for prosperity to those living in our kingdom!”
“This is how homunculi can make humanity happy!”
His friend argued back.
――Their bond was a lie.――
The alchemist wept in anger and despair. He went against his friend and pleaded with the king to refuse homunculi from war, but in the end, he was stripped of his position and banished from the royal city for his dissent. Lost in despair, he eventually found himself back in his hometown, which was a remote fishing village. The alchemist took up a quiet life in a house on the outskirts of town, avoiding contact with others.
The years went by.
Despite the rumors of the war’s end, the alchemist continued his days like a living corpse, unable to confront the lingering scars on his heart. Until one day, he discovered a “girl” who had been stuffed in bags and dumped in the forest.
